Last Thursday following the big dump, my buddy left St Germain with the Four Seasons Resort on the Menomonee River as our overnight destination. We rode every type of trail you could expect following a storm like that.
St Germain to Sugar Camp - Loose, but panned; Actually pretty nice
Sugar Camp Section - Tractor groomer not able to get out but floated through the woods on the powder hoping to not get stuck, luckily only a couple of miles.
Sugar Camp to Rhinelander/Monico/County Line - Actually fairly decent; Panned and groomed.
County line through Crandon and Laona - Very nice - Thank you 100 miler
Ran NST south to LMT 8 - Only one track on it so stayed on grade to Wabeno. The NST was bumpy enough to be annoying, but still pretty good.
Out of Wabeno on the 10 Miler headed east had 12 or so miles of fresh ribbon. Caught and passed the groomer and my first thought was "Wow! Why are they even grooming" it was still so nice.
Here is where I lead into my main reason for this post and I am hoping someone can help me. Wanting to jump off the 100 Miler at Corridor 16 East which now I know is Benson Lake Road. Anyway, where the trail turns left (heading north now) off Benson Lake Road, is that truely a 3-way intersetion of trail? It is not marked this way. All markers lead you onto BLR to the west when coming from the north and to the north into the woods when coming east on BLR. I missed this turn and a few miles later knew I was going to end up in AC. No problem, just take the Goodman trail east. The wonderful people at the green Shack advised not to do that as the trail runs the ditch and has been plowed in by the road crew and that several others had stopped in that day talking about how long it took them to get un-stuck and out of that ditch.
We made our way back down to BLR and headed east. We finished our journey but had some very distrubing areas of trail in central Marinette County which is going to be for their chamber. This will not be to complain, but more of a need to understand. It is not due to the amount of snow, but to make the ramaining long story short, for safety reasons, I had the father in law pick us up Friday morning from Four Seasons as we were not going to attempt to ride back through this part of Marinette County or take our chances on other areas as they were unknown. Would I do it again, absolutely, but maybe take a different route and only when conditions have been better longer. I would like to know how poeple got around in the Amberg area on Friday and Saturday after what we rode through.
Thanks to all of you in Forest County for wonderful trails.

You are correct on all accounts. I do not have a state map here, but I do have a copy of the Forest County Snowmobile Trails pinned to my right. It does appear as if Corridor 16 continues East there. And for some reason I've always thought some sort of trail went through there (Benson Lake Rd), but I thought it was an ATV route, even though I'd see Sleds go by on it. I guess that's because there used to be an ATV route sign back there. I don't think I've ever seen any other signage back there. But I think you may be right, and we'll get that fixed. Thanks.
Thank You
Thank you for the additional investigation. I love the area (though I have not been through there in a few years) and was so impressed by the area's ability to take that large amount of snow and have it near perfect by Thursday afternoon. I will attempt this trip again and look forward to the 3-way intersection marker at BLR and the 100 Miler leading into Marinette County.
