Deer

Post by Johnnie »

Ernie and trail riders have reported many deer on the trails so please be careful. It is the time of the year when because of the deep snow, deer are becoming stressed and do not want to leave the hard packed trail. So please be careful.

Brian and I just got back from a 100 mile loop and saw a few deer ourselves.

i had seen quite a few running down the trail this weekend, almost got one too. was up around newald and was coming around a wider corner in the 35-40mph range and one leaped out about 10 feet in front of me. got my heart beating.

i hit one on a few years ago, it hit me more than anything. small crack in the hood, took the windsheild off, took me off the sled, i was doing about 55 that time. i was swore for a couple days

I saw two deer this weekend just east of intersection 40 going into Florence county. But I did find a ski just south of Carter in the middle of the trail, and about a half mile down the trail was a snowmobile pulling a trailer missing the ski.
