I didn't think they were that bad. We only made it up to Popple River (if that is correct) to eat lunch. There were a few choppy areas but not bad. Ride far to the right in those areas and had no real problems. When we were leaving Popple River a snowmobile club pulled up with 34 sleds.
This was on Saturday I believe. Even in the mist and snow of last weekend I was impressed with the trail conditions. Great job guys and gals if there are any!!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

But I suppose there are other ways around. Usually you don't have to worry about avoiding the logging areas, as the loggers around here are very good about leaving us a small base. They seem to plow only the roads needed at the moment, and are quick to inform us when they finish, and when we can return to normal grooming operations. But the area in question is just east of Nelligan Pond / Newald Tower Rd. This is on our Armstrong Creek North trail heading toward Newald. Typically I have not been avoiding the area, as you almost have to go through there, depending on your route. It's passable, but it is not atypical of our logging routes. They're usually better. Like I said... I think the guy tried to take all the dirt off the trail too. It also seemed like he plowed out more of trail than necessary too. I think when Dick groomed last, he may of tried pulling a little snow into that problem area.
