patrollin stop signs is about as dumb as it gets....dirty pool,....many are misplaced by volunteers that could be using yield signs at the seldom used gated driveway crossngs etc.

I have never had any issues with police officers, DNR wardens, Forest Patrol, etc. I found if you are nice and cooperative they can be, too. After all, they are just people too. Of course there are always exceptions or people who are having a bad day. Some of my acquaintances are police officers. They live in the real world, too.

In most cases, they only pull people over who did violate the law. Running a stop sign or not properly displaying a registration tag are common violations. They are just enforcing the rules and regulations set forth by our lawmakers. They don't get to decide which laws to enforce and which ones not to. Of course they do have the option to listen to the "why the violation occurred", such as ghostrider's stickers falling off and needing to be replaced.

I agree with what others have said about stop signs at unused driveways. During winter, at least, there is no point in having the stop sign at some of these driveways. But given we sometimes share the same trails as summer ATV trails we are forced to have a few unnecessary stop signs during winter. With that said, are there bags that could be placed over the unnecessary stop signs? Something easily removable in the Spring?

Just curious, but I don't think I am the only one wondering how both stickers fell off and still ended up in the map holder???? They must have both fell off while the machine was standing still to be able to find both of them. Just curious.
there are way more than 6 teams, we saw them leaving the cop shop in Boulder Junction last Friday morning to "enforce" the St. Germain area. I would say at least 10.
They only have 6 teams in the actual force. The state DNR had all the new hires up there doing snowmobile training in which they were out patrolling so that is why you saw more.

because johnnie is so curious about the stickers! i bought the sled brand new(07) and when the stickers came, i put the stickers on. no problem! then the registration came due and needed new ones, which when the new stickers came, i put them over the old ones. then one day when i went into the trailer to check the sleds, i had seen that both the original and new sticker fell off together with the old sticker underneath. hope that helps johnnie!

as for the respect shown law enforcement, both the wife and i were giving the proper respect and support for what they do! the problem came when he did not want to listen to us when we tried to explain our sticker problem to him. when both the wife and i ride we follow the signs and what they represent. we did not do anything to provoke or antagonize the officer. plain and simple the officer needed to have some people skill training!
