I often get asked the questions: "Why don't you groom during the day?" or "Why don't you groom Saturday like so and so does?" The article hit all those points right on the head!! Traffic is the #1 killer of a fresh groomed trail. That is before the trail has had a chance to "set up". Also, most operators try to groom as wide as they can and double groom where possible so that people don't have to ride right down the middle!!

Excellent point Hooter; daylight grooming is just like a spinning gear,you don't get any appreaciable upgrade to the trail. In fact more damage occures and faster than if the trail wasn't even groomed.

all good points. but there is another one too. its safer. those blind corners where you are slowed down already and cannot see the groomer coming. at least at night you can see them because of all the lights shining thru the woods.
