I fear for the future of our sport...

I fear for the future of our sport with all of the self-centered wannabe racers on the trails today.
To make my point, here is a cut and paste from an Ontario snowmobile club website on the new laws. Here is the link if you don’t believe it. http://nwosta.ca/regulations/
Ontario Trail Regulations
· All snowmobiles must have the registration native to their state or province.
· To drive a snowmobile legally, a valid driver’s license or a snowmobile operator’s permit is mandatory.
· All snowmobilers must be able to provide proof of insurance for their sled.
· Speed limits are 20Kmh in town and 50Kmh out on the trails
· Approved helmets are mandatory at all times.
Yep, 50Kph speed limit. That’s about 31mph for those of us here in the good ol’ USA. This is what happens when the all-knowing Government gets involved to protect us from the less bright among us.
Don’t get me wrong, speed and performance are part of the fun. Want to run 100 mph on the lake, cool, I might join you. Want to ride 80 mph down the grade with 1/4 mile forward visibility, go for it. Wreck somebody else on a tight woods trail because the reality is that you can’t handle how fast you think you are and everyone else in this sport will know for a fact that you are not an intelligent individual. The proof of your ignorance is the fact that you’re not even bright enough to understand the gravity of the situation and save yourself.
If nothing else, please keep in mind that when your ego and actions permanently ruin the sport of snowmobiling for everyone, screws all the families and businesses that depend on it and kills some innocent people along the way that you will have to pay the price along with the rest of us for your stupidity.
