We had our meeting last night. We have a new fellow in the Park and Planning dept. and he is going by the book. Needed a number of papers submitted to open. Those were filed last night and should be good now to open.
When is the question. Clubs in the south in the county want it. Not as much snow north, those clubs want to stay closed.
Same problem every year!!
Keep in touch, will let you know.
Don't you just love it when people drive on closed trails!
In reality, it does not take much snow to make the WIOUWASH or Friendship trails rideable due to the nice limestone screening trail surface and flat, graded trail, and riding them will not cause much if any harm to anything. They are often rideable when the club trails are NOT rideable for various reasons.
Actually, the WIOUWASH used to be left open to sleds all winter, more or less regardless of conditions, but that is no longer the case. I do not personally agree with this decision, but it was made, and technically riders on WIOUWASH could be ticketed... The intent of the decision was to discourage riders from being on club trails and ticking off the farmers who own much of the land we cross.
