Railroad Grade

Post by gary »

two things:

1. I'm pretty sure my snowmoblie club news letter (Chute Pond) said, and they also discussed at a meeting, that the railroad grade, at least around Mountain, could be used by the ATV's into December until the first groomable snow. After that time they will not be allowed on the trail until the spring. I'm not sure if this is the case only in our area or others as well.

2. I read in one of the local papers that the railroad grade will be open from from Gillete all the way to the Upper Penninsula (including through Laona towards Popple River). Can anyone confirm this? It sure would be great if this were true. Thanks

The Nicolet State Trail is open for ATV use in Oconto County from May 1 through October 31 or as posted or published. Oconto County has numerous ATV routes and has opened the former railroad corridor that the Nicolet State Trail is on, south from Gillett to Shawano County. The Nicolet Trail and other trails and routes may be closed or rerouted due to changing weather conditions.

#1 Is the same info I understand to be true. As was posted in my Townsend
Red Arrow news letter.

T.Chris...

#2 That part is still a work in progress, it is a goal for the future and has a
couple obsticales to over come.
