LMT heading to Cavour!!!!?????? There is no LMT trail going to Cavour and if you look closely you will see 100 Miler on the windshield!!!

Aaaaaaa slip of the fingers? and I can't edit it anymore either!! I have to appoligize, I've mistakenly blended LMT and the 100 miler into one group. I haven't said thanks to the 100 miler groomers! Thanks for doing a great job this year! :thumbup: It has been much appreciated!

My brother made it up from Missouri for an extended weekend of riding. We found a smorgasboard of conditions.... some were bad , some were average , and some were excellent. Especially encouraging was not seeing any of the 100Miler groomers parked anywhere when we rode past their usual spots. Unfortunately traffic was pretty heavy this weekend and the trails saw their fair share of nincompoops (par for the course). Weekend riding has almost gotten to the point of "why bother?" We found our best riding Monday morning (and a stretch Sunday morning too).
It looks like we've got 3 or 4 days left before a warm spell will likely shut this short season down on us. I'm tempted to come back up for the day Thursday.

Oh, and I broke a THIRD recoil assembly on one of those stupid Rotax 800s. Those things are under-engineered. :thumbdown:

Jim,what the deal with that bridge?:eek: Will it be replaced next year or will you have to reroute the trail

There was nothing wrong with the bridge itself. My understanding was that it was removed because of legal issues between the county and the land developer. If or when it will be replaced, is uncertain at this time.

Maybe it was classified as a waterway that could be navigated by
boat, and the bridge wasnt high enough.
I have heard of that happening in a different spot.
(Even though you would never take a boat or canoe thru there !!!???)

And that someone (the land developer?) kept cutting the locks on the bridge and removing the large boulders to gain access to the bridge. So, it was removed due to a liability issue of someone getting hurt by driving an overweight truck across it. It was only a span bridge with no support. But I sure wish we could get this resolved, because I don't like riding the detour up Old 101, especially since the development boom back there, they've started plowing Old 101 all the way back to Pestigo River Road. But at least Blackwell leaves us something on the road to ride on, unlike whoever is doing the plowing for Armstrong Creek. Someone needs to call the town and ask them not to plow all the snow off the road, and not to plow all the snow off the shoulder, and to leave us something to ride on!
