246 Mile Ride on Thursday
Posted: Fri Jan 14, 2011 9:45 am
Yesterday we did a 246 mile ride. We started out near Roberts Lake and headed north. Went to Three Lake, Eagle River, Boulder Junction, and back home. Drove the entire west side of the 100 Miler.
Trail conditions in the morning were just as everybody had been reporting. Icy corners with loose snow on top. Lots of bumps. As the day progressed, it snowed. The trails became better and better the further north we went. In addition, we received new snow. By the time we came home the trails were much better. Round two (the return trip) down the west side of the 100 Miler was awesome. The new snow and colder temperatures locked the snow and made for great riding. We flew! No more icy corners.
All day long, even up in the Eagle River area, we hardly saw another snowmobile. We are looking forward to another day of riding! :sledder:
Remember, keep doing da dance! It is working!!! :taz::taz::taz::
