Hi all,
Wondering if anyone out there did this trip by sled.Trying to find out mileage and time for this trip next Thursday the 10th.We have Root celler booked for 10th-13th.I'm thinking it would be about 400miles.Never did a backpack from home so I'm thinking I could take this one off my bucket list for things to get done before the big guy calls my name in the next fourty years.(I hope) Any help would be great.

Getting past the Fox River would be the only major problem. I know you can cross in Wrightstown, but I have heard it is something like a couple miles of just street riding. If possible, I would have someone trailer you to the west side of Green Bay (trailhead by Maplewood Meats Shell off of 29). Once you get to Pulaski you could ride railroad grade all the way up to Tipler (mapquest has this as 105 miles by road, i wouldn't think that much more with sled, maybe at most 125?). Maybe around 20-30 miles to Iron River, Fishweb has Iron River to Watersmeet listed as 32 miles. Maybe 40ish miles from Watersmeet to Lake Geogibic?

Those are just my estimates, obviously it will depend on what trails you take, but there is a large percentage of RR grade from Pulaski to Lake Gogebic if you just want to get there fast.

Head west through calumet get onto lake winnebago, you come out in neeneah by Paynes Point. That trail will take you North to New London, from there you can get wherever you want.
