100 Mile Snow Safari Forum

Since now it is snowing:thumbup:what are the chances of the 100 being open this weekend?:shrug: do we really have to wait until next weekend for the trails to open with all hoopla that has to happen first?:thumbdown:

It is too hard to reopen them quickly. If it were only as simple as grooming the fresh snow and letting you go at it.

Why do you have to post in the paper a week ahead of time. We don't have to do that here in Sheboygan County? We open whatever gates we have as of the 15th so that upon good snow fall we are green to go. Just wondering?

we wait all summer to ride and when we finally can, we cant. why cant the posting in the paper and the gates be opened by Dec. 15th so when we get snow we can go sleddin. just wondering also.......

Good things come to those who wait. This in my opinion is why forest county has one of the better trail system in the state. I choose not to ride in many other north woods trail systems.

I Agree , when temps are warm like this year and others recently ,our swamps cant freeze properly . Also its been very wet this year, lowlands are full of water. Grooming is challenging enough when trails are froze solid -:thebomb:

Still our trails are not froze and will NOT open. This is due to our trail system running on private farm fields some of which have winter wheat in them. MUST keep farmers happy!!!!
