Just remember when you pin the throttle that there are deer in dem woods....almost had one sitting in my lap,only 2 or 3 feet separation doin just over 50mph....I think my heart skipped a beat

Hasn't happened to me yet ... but I often wonder why I don't hear about it more often. Not sure how I'd react, but I want to believe I'd be smart and quick enough to just put my head down, let off the throttle and hope for the best, which is to say only body damage to my sled. What else could you do at 50+ mph?!? Remember those little bumper whistles they used to sell for cars (and maybe still do?) - I wonder if those would work on a sled...

Those bumper whistles didn't work on cars. I used to go to Canada with a couple of guys from Chicago who put the Deer Whistles on their car before our night trip to Canada. They never made it out of Chicago before hitting a deer. There are many sled deer crashes every year. We even had a fatality a number of years back between Crandon and Montico. The guy was hit in the head by the deer, which broke his neck. So be careful out there. It happens very quickly.

Know a guy down here that came so close that there was hair left on one of his skis. Hate when you have to go back home and change your shorts.

In fact, she was hitting MORE deer..... Turns out,
she'd mounted the whistles on BACKWARD!!

I have already hit a deer with the sled,Luckily I was only doing 25 and seen him coming. I pushed him down the trail 30 to 40 feet and then parted ways with no damage to the sled or the deer:thumbup:
