Advise 7 ft or 8 ft trailer

Post by Hillbills »

Just a quick question for you guys with enclosed snowmobile trailers. I see alot of 7 ft (stager the sleds) enclosed trailers latley. I have an 8x28 footer which works well but am looking at getting an aluminum encolsed trailer. Just looking for some reasoning behind the 7 footers rather than the 8 footers. Obviously less wind/better gas milage. But what am I not seeing.

Easier to see behind you and pull between the road construction barrels.

8 footers might be wider but 7 footers are going to be much longer. Also can't put ATVs side by side on a 7 footer. I have a Triton 21 ft long 8 foot wide and I love it. Wouldn't get anything else.

You can tow a 7 footer easilly with a 1/2 ton which saves upgraded vehicle costs..... Just my .02.
