Sounds like a snowmobile accident behind Lake Laura and Lake Gordon.
Be careful out there.

A snowmobiler hit a tree. He had a back injury and was taken to the hospital. No further update at this time.

Hope they recover.

Not to get off topic but I don't recall that location in my Forest, Marinette, Florence Co. travels?

The lakes behind the campground (Laura Lake Campground) on Wall Rd.
I believe some people refer to it as Lake 8.

The snowmobiler was going around a corner shortly after the groomer had come through. The snow was soft and hadn't had time to set up. There was ice underneath. He hit the ice and slid. He bailed from the sled before hitting the tree but unfortunately caught the handlebar as he was bailing causing him to flip over and land on his back.

The groomer driver was kind enough to drag the sled out of the woods. On Sunday I was able to start the sled and drive it around the parking lot and onto my trailer.

Fortunately the snowmobiler is going to make a full recovery. Many thanks to all who helped take care of him.

I've been told, that there may of been more than one accident, and that the outcome may not of been as good.

It does not surprise me one bit that there were some accidents this past weekend , come on guys slow down a bit its a snowmobile trail not a race track!! Amazing how many times I met machines on Friday that were sliding into the corner almost out of control, like they think they are the only ones on the trail. I wouldn't even think of riding on a Saturday afternoon any more.
I wouldn't even think of riding on a Saturday afternoon any more.
That's why I've always been a BIG fan of the mid-week ride!
Friday and Saturday aren't too bad if you leave at 7 AM, put on a 100 miler or so, and you're back before a Noon'er.
