100 Mile Snow Safari Forum

The old Christmas Tree Inn is located just North of where the 100 Miler comes out on Goodman Park Rd. If you're coming from Armstrong Creek, off of Goodman Park Rd. (heading North) go straight, instead of making that first left turn (sometimes there is a closed gate there). That road leads to the old Christmas Tree Inn. Look for the xmas tree on the map below.

The the golden days of the "Christmas Tree Inn" were before we really got into Sledding so I missed it.

From what I have heard, it sounds like the "Tree" was some what of a "rustic adventure".....

Anyone have any good stories?

I remember going there in the mid 70's, early 80's until it closed for a while.
The Goodman Park road was always a race track.
I think the owners name was Vince, He and his wife had a drinking problem!!
If I remember correctly, the power inside came from a generator. A friend of mine worked at Kohler Co and got him the generator.
Almost all the lights were small Christmas ones. The first outhouse was outside and later there was a addition added to the building for more room and bathrooms.
A friend of mine had a cottage on the river nearby and we would always go there as a last stop of the day.
Now for one story.
Late one night on the way back to the cottage, we all stopped there for a last drink and something to eat.
We all ordered a big bowl for chili. Vince said they didn't have any more because his drunk wife got sick and t----
u- in the chili. Last time we ever asked for something to eat there other then what came packaged, like potato chips, peanuts, etc.

Remember many trips there with Sarge , and probably a few more in the memory bank that are lost. Very Unique place !

The old green dilapidated A-frame was still there a few years back. :shrug:

I still stop there once in a while. look around and reminisce about the good times. The roof is caved in now, but every thing is still inside. It was for sale about four years ago. I don't know who owns it now. Would make an excellent destination now with the ATVs, there is lots of room for camping. The original owner was a lady that was a makeup artist in Hollywood. Her and her husband would come back for the winter, all the supplies had to be brought in by snowmobile. The place was all ways packed when we would go there. I remember the ash trays on the bar were bronzed cow pies. Every song or polka written about snowmobiling was on the Juke box. Thank God for memories there will probably never be another like it. Although Johnnies is close with the vintage videos from back in the day!
