Jujst read on snowconditions.com that Eagle River trails could open as early as December 10th. Hope others follow snow conditions permitting.

How can they do that if the State says trails can not open until Dec 15?

Its not a state law that the trials cant open till Dec 15. The State law says that the trails can not be opened before Dec 1, and that they have to be closed April 1 (i believe this is the correct close date).

I Doo If you look under the Thread 6" - 10" Snow I am the one that said I believed they didn't open to the 15th. A few post later I went back and restated that I said "believed" not that I was 100% sure. So last weekend I did some digging and it appears that the trails can open once deer hunting is done and it is county by county. I found two or three counties that said they would be opening on the 10th. Of course this is dependant on the snow condidtions and having enough snow. The Lakewood web site 4upnorth has it posted for Oconto County as opening the 10th. We are hearing the 21st for Forest which reminds me of two years ago when we got dumped on on Dec 14th and 15th and Oconto county opened on the Sat the 17th. There simply wasn't enough snow until then to open. That year Forest County didn't open up for several weeks after that. I remember it being between Christmas and New Years.

Show me any law with dates for opening and closing!!!! We have opened as early as Dec 9th and closed as late as April 9th. If we have snow, the Forest County trails will be open!! Now with a state wide gun doe season this weekend. I do not think any one will open their trails until the 10th the day after the gun season. Not sure about the Hurley area???
