Does anyone have any details on the “Ride for MS” this weekend? (2/2/08)
I hear the riders are staying in Carter.
Also, any details on the Poker Run?
Thanks.

Thank you Roger. Also, thank you for all the work you and the crew do to keep the trails groomed. The 100 Miler trails are some of the best in the state.
One last thing to all; ride smart, safe and please stay on the right side of the trail...

I couldn't agree more. Last week I was following behind a pair of riders on the NST between Wabeno and Laona- they simply rode wherever they felt like it... right side, middle, left, you name it. The only reason you shouldn't be with your right ski a couple mere inches from the groomed edge of the trail is if you're actively passing somebody going in the same direction as you. I can't believe how inconsiderate some people are.

Here, Here!!! I cannot believe the number of riders out there that simply think they are the only ones on the trail.
Almost got basted 4 times last weekend from someone else coming the other direction on the wrong side of the trail.
Corners are icy so slow down!!!!!!!!
Just venting...............thanks for listening.

It kills me even more to be riding on what is a freshly groomed trail and you can see where some idiot rode back and forth across the whole trail from side to side... Saw that a few times last weekend and that really burns my butt!
Only a matter of time

Well it happened. Rode north on Saturday from Laona. We decide to go up toward 3 Lakes. Just north of Hiles, we came across a professional trail rider and his buddies. He must have been a professional because non-professionals don’t drive down the trail at the speed he was going with no regard to others. He made it past our sleds (barely) on a sweeper to the right almost hitting our fourth sled. You would think after passing 3 sleds he would have slowed down some, but as I say, he must have been a professional. Our forth rider was 12 years old driving his own big sled for the first time. Next guy on their race team was not quite so good, or lucky. He barely missed me, the lead rider. By this time we were almost at a complete stop. He went past our second rider up on his side, came down and hit our third sled almost head on. My buddy number 3 was stopped and over to the right as far as possible. Didn’t matter. No one got hurt luckily and both sleds were drivable although hood, belly pan and suspension arm damage were apparent. Speed racer number 2 never took his helmet off so I really don’t know if he was drinking or not. It was 3:00 PM. His excuse, He was trying to keep up to the leader.
When you pick a leader, it should not be the fastest rider but the most responsible one who can guide the others down the trail.

Glad everyone was ok. But thats a shame when you have people out there that dont ride smart. A few seasons ago I was towing my dad between Sams Lake house and Johnnie's and a group riding hard came into a sweeping corner and just missed side swipeing us by inches, I mean inches! Even with a leader in front of us that signaled to the group to slow down the two lead sleds still almost hit it us. But I'm just glad everyone came out ok to bad the sleds got banged up.

That happens to me every year. Some rude rider that has no respect for the sport. Typically I lead in our pack so I am the first to encounter rude riders.
One year a guy slammed into my machine on a turn and started punching me in the helmet!!! Said it was my fault for being there...........
trail rage I guess.......
