Laona to Cavour RR

They have started to remove the tracks on the Laona to Cavour RR, last week. They are progressing very well. If everything works out perfectly, we may be snowmobiling on it this winter. I will keep you posted.

That would make rapid transit to Florence county a sweet thing (I have an uncle that lives on Halsey lake). :thumbup:

Musky, any word lately on the rail bed from Cavour to Armstrong Creek?

another question, if the rail grade from Laona North as well as from Cavour to A-creek become trails some day, will the existing 100 miler trails in those areas that are not on the grade still be there, or will the rail grades take over? I would hate to loose the existing trails to rail grades.

If the gov. keeps closing forest roads it will all we have left!

No news on the Cavour Arm. Cr. Grade, Just rumors.

Baron, We will be trying to keep existing trails open, but with changing landowners and the Federal Forest Service closing alternate routes, heaven knows what the future holds.

we were up over labor day weekend and noticed a huge pile of steel
plates sitting in Laona. Looks like the track removal is going well.:thumbup:

we we be able to keep the 4 wheelers off? hope so,they get 9 months we get 3 if we r lucky,so I hope they stay home.
