For "brushers" who would want to work in the Laona, Lk Lucerne, Roberts Lk, Crandon areas please contact Johnnie. We will also go to the Wild Rose after.

I am interested in helping out with brushing. Before I volunteer I guess I should ask what it entails. Having never participated before I have a few questions. What equipment should I bring? How long does brushing typically take? Should I show up on an ATV or in my car? I understand there is a meal after. How do we end up at the Wild Rose? Drive our own car or does brushing end up there? Any logistical information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

For brushing, you will need at least a nice sharp chainsaw with extra chains. Depending where you go this year, you may be able to take a truck or ATV right down the trail. Roger will probably escort the brushing crew again to the right areas. When we were all done in previous years, we just drove over to the Wild Rose for a filling chicken dinner. Last year, it started snowing when we got done brushing on December 1st, snowed 8-10" that night! The snow gods were happy we helped out and paid us back.
