I am getting upset. Looks like the big storm for Thursday evening will again miss Lakewood, Townsend, Wabeno etc. to the south. Hope forecasts change or are wrong. Fingers crossed.

missed?

The storms that miss the Northwoods have been hitting the Southeastern part of WI. There has already been over a foot of snow on the ground until the meltdown last weekend. Trails were groomed in anticipation of the end of the (stupid) late season deer hunt, only to melt away. We are starting over again, with over a foot predicted Thursday night, 6 more Saturday, and the mother of all storms early next week. Come on and ride down here, it ain't the 100 miler, but at least there's snow!

I have been leaving my sleds at the cabin in Townsend but if this keeps up they will be coming home south.

Lets hope this is the end of the snow in the south and for the remainder of the season the rest of the big snow storms will be in Forest County. :letitsnow:

The good news is with the snow in the south the trails in the north will be less crowded. I know it is not good for the resort owners but it is good for those of us that like to ride! :sledder:

That is a good point, keeps everyone spread out which I think makes it better for us up north and the best part safer too.

Wow.....it is only December 18th....and triditionally we usually aren't even able to ride yet! For the past few years we have had our winter warm up and rain during Christmas...Well we just got that a week and a half early...and with the snow that we have forecasted we could easily have a foot or more on the ground by Christmas! So lets not write things off quite yet! Although we haven't had a "big" snow yet, we have been getting a consistant 3 - 6 each week which I will take! As you know...it adds up!

Maybe the big one Saturday night. Winter storm watch out already for areas to the west, about time. Keep the snow dance going.
