Who's gettin the itch!

Im for sure getting the itch to ride. I was back in Armstrong for thanksgiving break, and I could resist. I pulled the sled out of the garage pulled all the plugs out of the exhaust and carbs that keep the mice out. Changed the plugs fired it up several times just to smell the 2stroke fumes and then to get the engine lubed.

Did some fine tuning and cleaning. Compression test came out 120 across both cylinders. Looks like next yr all give it a fresh set of rings most likely pistons too. not bad for 4,780 hard miles in the Northwoods.

Tried to get a rip around the yard, we actually have some snow. We live out in the woods with lots of shade, so the snow usually stays longer even when the rest of Armstrong melts. Had the sled almost moving when my mom gave me the look, darn that grass.

We took our sleds out of storage a couple weeks ago. They are all ready to go but I have some work to do on the ZRT. I am going to completely replace all the cooling hoses and clamps. Last year I kept blowing hoses off, and it was the biggest headache so hopefully this will be it for good.

Well I am only blowing hoses off when I am using nitrous. It is completely fine when runing n/a. The nitrous is raising my rpm's by four to five hundred. Some new hoses and better clamps should do the trick.
