Off-trail or logging-trail play areas

I'm looking to do more and more off-trail exploring, but the last thing I want to do is trespass. I know the law states that any public road not maintained in winter is fair game. What I'm looking for is open public areas to do some hill climbing/boondocking. We have a few hundred acres of private land with roads on them up there, but I chew that up pretty quickly. :)

So, any suggestions? I know of a few spots between Crandon and Laona that have some good logging roads, but other than that... Where can I ride without trespassing and without ruffling feathers (other than the Keweenaw)?

I'd love to help you out but seeing as how you can chew up 100 acres fairly quickly I don't think I know of anywhere that could possibly fully satisfy you.
As far as hill climbing, there's a rather nice one just north of Wabeno on Hwy 32 that a bunch of us really enjoy.

Yeah that one is nice but it gets torn up pretty fast

Sorry, Please Don't Ask, Don't Tell

There's nothing wrong with a little fun, but you have to be careful what you're tearing up. You certainly don't want to tear up one of our landowner's property, only to have him cut off the rest of our trail.:(

I think we touched on this a bit last year, when there was a thread on the discussion of short-cuts. I'd like to implement a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy on this board regarding it. :o

It just seems to be counter productive as to what the 100 Mile Snow Safari Club is all about. It's supposed to be about our trail system, and not about short-cuts and tearing up property. Otherwise there'd be no need for the 100 Mile Snow Safari!
