Went snowmobiling Thursday night (Christmas Day) turned onto LMT 7 off of the grade crossed the highway, the trail disappeared. Found it further down the road with a cable closing it off. The trail markings are up, but nothing else done. Off of LMT 8 the gate is closed which I did see some tracks go around. Other than that the trails were awesome. Fresh snow and no tracks.

That section of trail was closed last year. Half the gate was open so that you could still go hill climbing:D

Yeah, I, ah, um, may have happened to take trail 7 from Laona south. Found the gate with the tracks around it. Kept going south until a mile or two before it intersects with the next trail (from Wabeno towards Roberts Lake, the number escapes me right now) there was a big gate with no way to go around. So I had no choice but to go back the way I came.
I am looking forward to when the trail officially opens. It is part of one of my favorite loops.

just curious?? don't they teach young riders, that have to take a snowmobile course, not to go around gates and travel trails that are not marked?:lol::lol:

I was coming from Roberts Lake - turned onto LMT 7 ; on my way to Wabeno - only to have to turn around after going in a mile. Would have been nice if the trail closed sign was up. I was not the only person to do this - lots of tracks. Other than that the trails were great - for the conditions - Fridays messy rain. My hats off to those who care for these trails - I have never been disappointed.
