The Fence Post is the "everything" store in Fence. Gas Station, Grocery Store, Liquor Store, Bar, Retaurant, Post Office, you name it.

It took us 4 years to get the route north and east of Fence to be moved off of the plowed roads and along the highway right of way. The final section was approved December 1st by the D.O.T. It will need some dozer work next year to make it a great trail that is easy to groom. So the only "road&...

I have tried to work with the various township plow jockies as well as town chairmen etc. The worst case was when a group of us were getting ready to leave from my house on sleds. The groomer is parked in the driveway. T...

We will be working on the Florence County trails as time permits. Looks like an "official" open date of early next week. We still have some details to work out with landowners, so I can't give a firm answer

I often get asked the questions: "Why don't you groom during the day?" or "Why don't you groom Saturday like so and so does?" The article hit all those points right on the head!! Traffic is the #1 killer of a fresh groomed trail. That is before the trail has had a chance to "...

Jim, I got reports from some snowmobilers that there are sections of the 100 miler that have log chunks and other debris on the trail. They couldn't give me any other details, but I assume it was between Armstrong and Newald. It sounded like the groomer operator was trying to grab extra snow and hoo...

The Tipler Long Lake groomer operators have been out on their regular schedule for about 2 weeks now. I don't think the grade has been opened into Laona yet, but someone in Forest County will have to give confirmation on that. The trails are very good to excellent except the narrow, curvy, rough ter...

We run Bombardier BR180's in Florence. If I can remember right, it is about 4 gallons per hour. Top speed in perfect conditions is about 7mph. We go through the same amount of fuel no matter what the speed is!!.
