Northern Forest County Trail Report

Post by DCBDA_Sledhead »

Does anyone know how the trails are around the Alvin area and over toward Tipler? Toward Phelps and Conover?
Also, does the railroad grade from Tipler now go all the way through to Laona?

Heading up this weekend.

The Tipler Long Lake groomer operators have been out on their regular schedule for about 2 weeks now. I don't think the grade has been opened into Laona yet, but someone in Forest County will have to give confirmation on that. The trails are very good to excellent except the narrow, curvy, rough terrain areas where we always seem to need more snow to get all the junk covered up. The trails will stay in great shape until this weekend's warm up. When it warms up, the trails do not hold up as well!!

The RR grade is open to County Hwy. O. At least that's where we groom to. I do see the gates open south of there, but I think that it was used by the ATV club? The 100 Miler heads East on County Hwy. O back toward St. Hwy. 139 at that point, into Cavour.
