do the lmt's groom?
lack of snow in the woods is the problem,...it takes alot more snizzle to make a terrain trail smooth compared to the road bed trails that some of the 100 miler is on.....
LMT 7 appeared groomed on Sat. AM but by noon it was back to semi rough again....
Whats up with the whinin?,....didn't you buy that new sled for the terrain tamer superduper suspension under it?.....we are all spoilt!!!! LOL:biggrin:

The above link is something every rider should read about "the ribbon"
That is an excellent link. I think the article should be mandatory reading for every snowmobiler. :sledder:
Would love to just go right down the middle on that beautiful flat line- but that is a lot of work and time that someone spent for my benefit.
Just doesn't feel right to trash it if I don't have to.
Thanks for posting the article-it was informative.

As long as your not spinning your track going all nuts, I don't think you would trash it that much! And as was said before. Someone else will! I have just started to groom on our trails (under supervision). I have the student driver sign on. We have lots of traffic on our trails and they are driven over as soon as you lay it. Feels good when you look at the perfect trail behind you at lease for a few seconds.

Lumberjack Memorial Trails
A big thanks for the support, the LMT is a made up of volunteers , some of the retired members contribute 40 hours a week or more during the season. Many of the groomer drivers take time away from other things , work, family, friends and fun, to fullfill their commitment to making the snowmobilers experience the best it can be. Behind the scenic groomed trail , many more members are working on the support services including, equipment service, trail brushing, working with land owners, and county trail meetings just to name a few. I started snowmobiling as a kid in the 60's and purchased my first new sled in 1978. The trails today compaired to the trails of the 80,s is night and day, in addition the sleds and grooming equipment today is like comparing a model T to a new Corvette. In reference to the complainers, You may have just hit it on a bad day and I am positive that if you try those trails again it will be a different experince. This is my second year grooming for the LMT , and as a newbie I was broke in on the Ultimate groomer. Last year with the low snow conditions I never hear a bad word about the trail grooming. This year we really have not recevied very much snow and what we do get is pretty dry and fluffy. Back to the groomer, the LMT just added a New Holland 7040 tractor , this will allow us to cover more ground at less expense on fuel and maintance. So please be patient because the best is yet to come. Thankyou, woodyboatguy and the LMT groomer team! picture 12-16-10 out the front of the tractor, notice a truck tried out the snowmobile trail.
put a nice 110 mile run on yesterday. ran from mountain up. for the most part the trails were great. but i am left with a dillema! the worst part of the trip was from waters edge to crandon and laona to wabeno!(all lmt trails) the trails were busted open pretty good but it did not look like a groomer touched the trails in 2 weeks!
I believe most of us on this site understand that lots of snow and perfect condions =good trails:letitsnow::winterrules: The question really is this.....other area clubs are out what I call GROOMING THE GROUND to produce the best trails possible w/ whatever snow is out there and it seems that the lmt does not. Sorry
