77 on the 100

Post by Jim »

Did another 77 mile loop on the 100 Miler this morning. Rode South from Armstrong Creek to Blackwell (Int-30). Took the LMT-8 West to the NST (Int-29B). Headed North to Cavour and Newald (Int-34) and then back East and South to Armstrong Creek. The trails were good overall. I saw a lot of traffic, including a couple of large groups. Ride On!

Decided after work Saturday to head to Crandon Sunday morning for some afternoon riding and a little Monday morning jaunt before returning to the "brown" land of Oconomowoc. Trails were great guys, an applause to all the groomers. Sure there were a few bad spots and some ice in some corners, but to us, they were great. Left out of Crandon Best Western around noon on Sunday and headed south on the grade, I think we hit a bump there but wasn't sure:lol:headed east around what we thaught was intersection 17 but turned out to be 9, got turned around by Robert's lake a few times (no complaints) and eventually found Johnie's. Got to meet John, although we were wishing to meet the bartender that you guys keep raving about, but knew that was a slim possibility because it was a Sunday afternoon. Sat and had a drink with John and he showed us where the trails were good and where they were bad. We tried to figure out where Jim may have lost his PINK camera (you know the one that he claims is his wife's) and figured that it had to be to the north of Armstrong Creek. Thanks to John for the hospitality. After we left Johnie's we headed north up to Mudslingers and had dinner with Karen and she proceeded to show us how to stick a dollar bill into her ceiling at the bar....note we never did get one to stick, but Karen showed us it could be done without a ladder. Thanks Karen for the hospitality. Left out of Mudslingers and headed NW back to Crandon and the hot tub:thebomb::biggrin: Monday we ran the grade down to the Pickeral area and proceeded to get turned around a few times on thier trails, and then rode the LMT6 back north to the trailer:thumbdown: Tried many times to convince my riding partener that we should stay for the storm watch, but he kept reminding me that we might have to work if it snows (work:thumbdown:snow:thumbup:) As always to short, but a great two days and 238 miles of trails. Hopefully I can talk my riding partner into another weekend this weekend, but this time we have to remember to make sure that Wendy at the Best Western joins us in the hot tub:thumbup::biggrin:
