TRAIL CLOSINGS

Post by Arby »

Just curious as to what are the usual trail closing dates in the southern part of the state? I know the great north can stay open if there's snow, but what about us poor souls who can't make the trip to God's country?

I'm pretty sure it's April 1 statewide , really does'nt matter , as the snow is usually long gone before that down here .

It's disappearing fast:( Last night I powered thru 100 feet of pure water just east of Kewaskum:eek: right alongside the river. Trail WERE good to very good. I thought March 1st was closing in southern parts:shrug: They probably will close after this weekend. And Jim, I love the pics and vids everyone posts that keeps me craving a chance to get up to the 100 miler. My best memories are taking a short snort b4 packing up to go home on Sunday mornings, racking up 65 miles in an hour and a half:cool: Nice freshly groomed trails that are unsurpassed:king:

Up here, it is up to the counties when to close and open the trails. Due to their land owners agreements, some counties have different closing dates like March 1st or 15th. Here in Forest County, our land owner agreements are open ended, meaning our trails stay open as long as we have snow. In '96 the 100 Miler groomed until Apr 8th!!!

We just got back from Minocqua and the trails sucked between there and St Germain.
A lot of snirt and just bare ground until you got north of there.
Then we had good riding.
