Forest Co. trails officially open at noon today. Please be careful of swamp areas. Because of the warm weather and deep snow the swamps had open water as of yesterday. Cold weather last night should have frozen them up for snowmobile traffic, but we need a couple of more nights before the groomers can go through these areas. One area of concern is the Nicolet State Trail just north of Newald. The short reroute around the bridge construction is a small swamp, so be careful. Also a gate on the Lk Lucerne access trail may not be open until later today.
Glad we didnt have a wait for the weekly paper!!! Is this something we can do every year from now on out is just notify the local newstations & state trail department? that weekly paper thing causes us to loose a few days on either end of the season each year
