Excellent Conditions

hey, just wondering how long you'll think the snow will stay.. I am at school and am busy, and still hoping to get up there a few more times. Cant go this weekend, next weekends looking good though. Any idea on how long the snow will last? I just hope i will be able to enjoy these great trails at least one more time...

The snow could last till April, which would be GREAT!:) Or it could melt in one day:(. I would suggest to ride as soon as you can, as long as your butt can handle and as many times, I hope to ride till April and then come home from the last open day of riding and then start riding the bikes. :winterrules:Till then bring more snow and more cold temps:thinksnow::sledder::letitsnow:

The snow will last a while, BUT once the plowed roads bare up, the long trips are over. In other words, if you want to do 100+ mile day trips, you had better not put off your trip too long. In years past, I have heard guys say they would be riding in MI until May. Guess what? They plow their roads up there too. When the plowed roads or routes bare up, you are done with long trips.

I rode 100 miles yesterday (Friday) on what's becoming one of my favorite loops:

[*]Armstrong Creek to Newald (100 Miler)
[*]Newald to Int 49 (100 Miler / NST)
[*]Int 49 to Argonne (Blackbear Sportsmen)
[*]Argonne to Int 32 (Blackbear Sportsmen)
[*]Int 32 to Laona (100 Miler)
[*]Laona to Int 29B (NST)
[*]Int 29B to Int 30 (100 Miler)
[*]Int 30 to Armstrong Creek (100 Miler)[/LIST]All of the trails were again in EXCELLENT conditions!

We saw very few sleds early in the day, but by late afternoon, we saw quite a few. :thumbup:

just wonderiing how the snow is holding up in the warm weather today... I was hoping to go up this weekend, but now seeing that its 40 degrees outside, i dont know:( will the trails still be in good shape??

Warm today but cooling off tomorrow. High for wed. in the teen's. Chance of snow for Thursday and Friday. Trails should be great.

It was warm yesterday as well with the sun out. The trails have a lot of snow on them and yesterday at 4pm although they were soft they were still in excellent condition. The only places that seemed bad were some areas in the tornado area where they had plowed the trail so they could get in for logging. I would pretty much bet that the trails in that area behind the Half Way bar are gone after today. I have a group of 8 coming up on Wednesday, and I would be surprised if the trails suffer that much. One thing is for sure, I think it was Roger who made the comment about trails that incorporate plowed roads, they were suffering yesterday a bit so we shall have to see about that! Anyway more snow later this week! :thumbup:

We rode through Fence yesterday, and the roads were taking it on the chin!!

But other than that, it was great! We rode the 100 Miler from Armstrong Creek to Florence County Jct 5 and took F4 back over toward Fence, and then jumped back on the 100 Miler to Armstrong Creek. Seems like we got a lot of snow melt today.

Parker will be going South as soon as temps permit today, so check back later for his report. We put on almost 300 miles this weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun).
