Friday

Post by Wayne »

I'm thinking of riding Friday and Saturday. Is there enough snow left? Rode last Sunday and had great trails for 90% of the day.
This year has had the best trails in years!

I can't speak for the boys up north, but I would chance it for the weekend. They were very good to excellent last weekend:thumbup: There was plenty of snow in the woods, and thats mostly what Forest co is:cool:

At this stage in the game, I'm not sure if anybody is out grooming. The trails were still in great shape last weekend, but I haven't been out since. I'm sure there are still some good stretches out there, as well as some bad stretches, including some bare/dirt trails. In the woods it's probably more than fine, with south facing hills/slopes taking a toll, and plowed roads close to done.

Rode 208 miles yesterday , from lower dam rd , south of mountain to 64& t - lily -windfall lake -johnnies-cavour-newald -arrgonne -crandon- laona - windfall lake -valley inn -to the ski hill -thru the golf course to the grade by rawhide , then south . the worst part was the grade between the cut off for the halfway bar and mountain .
north of hiway 8 was really nice , the 100 miler trails were good , lmt trails were a little rougher . the sun was doing a pretty good job of making everything soft .i would say on a scale of 1-10 it was a 7 .
the trails around townsend & lakewood were the smoothest , they had about 2 inches of snow on them at 830 last nite .
we rode from 9am-9pm and the only sleds we saw, were 2 older guys in by johnnie when we stopped there at noon .

The sun took its toll yesterday. The trails got a bit sloppy by the afternoon. It is sunny again today, so I do not know what will be left by tomorrow. Check back later, after I ask a few snowmobilers.

this is what Johnnie posted this morning , so i would'nt count on it .
kinda hard to groom slush .

Does it pay to come up?

Have the weekend off but hate to spend the gas money to drive up and find nothing left to ride on. Anyone have a current report?? Waiting for Johnny's report.
