What would you do?

Post by eschmitz »

With these sensless acts of violence, it got me thinking of what I would do if I witnessed an act of violence or vandalism. Actually, I have no clue what I would do, it's not like I can take down a license plate number, or get on a high speed chase, that wouldn't be safe. You could try to identify a sled or someones gear, but I don't think that would really hold up. A lot of the sleds are identical.
These acts seem to be picking up, my buddy's land was vandalized early in the year. His newly planted saplings where clearly marked and taped off. Two sleds ran through the tape and ran over the plantings. He's not a snowmobiler and I'm trying get him into the sport. Luckily, I talked him out of closing the trail stating it was just two young stupid immature punks.
Anyways, just curious as to what you'd do?

I would lay back and gather as much information as possible. And call 911 on my cell phone, if I have it, and I have a signal. I don't think I'd get directly involved, unless WE outnumbered them, or if some person was suffering bodily harm. Otherwise, it's just personal property, and that's definitely not worth dying for. If you know what I mean. :thebomb:

Unless it's just kids. Then you can just yell at them. Which is what I was thinking about these other incidents. That they're probably younger kids, that haven't quite grown up yet. Still a little immature. And they made a bad decision. I'd think hunters, because they seemed to be comfortable with killing. And probably have done it before, but with a rifle. This time they decided to use a different weapon. And even though it was illegal and senseless, they were just 'hunting' them down. Not much of a sport being run down by a sled, but then the deer don't fare too well against the rifle either! :slywink:

I would love to catch them in the act...with my camera! And then give them a piece of my mind.
