Despite all of the warm temps and rain in the north woods last weekend my father and I decided to pull our sleds up to our cottage near Silver Lake.
On saturday we rode from silver lake to the Trump Lake fishoree. I would call the trails fair at best on saturday, we had to stop just south of laona on the grade to push a tree off the trail. The trails were very icy and just covered with a light dusting.
On Sunday we went for a short ride to crandon, then to roberts lake and back to laona. The trails were good to very good condition with some icy patches. The grooming that was done on saturday night did wonders. There were a few places that the sun ate away at the trails but other than that they were smooth and fast.
So even though the trails weren't the best and i didnt get to ride all that much the weekend wasn't a complete bust. I will be back up in a few weeks and hopefully the snow continues up in da nort woods:D
