Yes I agree it is lesson learned but $200 come on thats insane, and yes with that amount I'm never going to do it again but even if it was $50 i wouldnt do it again, i mean it is an expensive sport to begin with so any expense besides gas, oil, and travel expenses is one i dont want or need. All I'm really saying is what I really worth a $200 penalty?
And just wondering tsg how much was your fine and how much was reduced and how long ago was it because I'm sure it would be different if it was like 10 years ago or something.
On a different note, had another great weekend up in the area. Went to the Jump in and a made a few loops for a lite 200 miles. Thanks Groomers for all you do, keep up the great work!
Got stoped this weekend by the DNR
Like $ 150 reduced down to $ 100 about 5 years ago. This weekend I was riding down in the Lakewood / Townsend area and at a junction, maybe where the Red Arrow and Paul Bunyon trails split, on a billboard was a posting of the various DNR fine amounts. I recall seeing an amount for illegal road running, but cannot remember the specific amount. I do remember that all of the fines were way more than I ever imagined. I would assume they will continue to get worse before better. Call the DA in Forest County and see what you can work out over the phone.
johnny law
They are out there. I heard of some people getting stopped late saturday night near lakewood. Every saturday I see the Forest Co. Sheriff and thier sled on a trailer in Wabeno at Citgo. Remember to stop at each stop sign, that is how they nab you. I haven't been stopped many times, but each time they were nice and I had no issues.

I would like to see that sign just to see what the amounts are. I think i'm going to call and see what can be worked out thanks tsg for the idea, I was going to send a letter but i think (may still) but i will call for sure.

I couldn't help but think of this thread when I left the Wild Rose on Friday night. My two kids and I (on one sled) left at the same time as a large group. We all went towards Lindsey Lake. I took the trail but they took the road. Hmmm, where is the DNR at a time like this I thought. Fortunately (for them) no sheriff. But I wonder what they thought when the "guy with two kids on the trail" kept up with them while they were on the road. haha
Sounds like your kids know how to lean into a corner .... LOL
That DOO was set up for 3 passengers for a few model years right?
That is an 09 MXZX (spring order, that is where the last X comes from). It is a single person sled with the 1+1 seat added. It is the perfect sled for me as I can take the kids with a "real seat with backrest" and yet the entire rear seat assembly comes off in less than 30 seconds leaving me with my sport snowmobile for when I don't have the kids.

Below is a picture without the 1+1 seat.
