less places to stop this winter

Post by Red Baron »

There will be 3 less Pitstops on the 100 miler this winter. Ross died, so there's nowhere to stop in Cavour. Larry is sick, so I heard Popple River Pub was closed. I heard directly from the owner of The Wild Rose on Roberts Lake that he was closing down, selling all the bar equipment and the building will go on auction. Johnnies, T-Bobs and the Greenshack may see extra business. A new bar did open in Laona, called Nugnutz. We need places to stop, the trails don't go to the orphanages, libraries, and churches! I predict a long, cold, and snowy winter with the mother of all snowstorms coming around Christmas. Forest County has had over 4 feet of precipitation since May, and it will continue thru winter. See you all on the trail brushing day on Dec 4th. There will be a lot to do with all the wind, rain, and late season snow bringing down branches.

Wow, hard to believe the Wild Rose will be gone. That was a nice pit stop.

Since last winter, you can add Lily River Lodge to the Pit Stops closed. Also heard, Sue at Lake Metonga Supper Club has decided not to renew her lease.

expansion

I was just telling ol' Johnnie that expansion plans may be prudent. Maybe a nice enclosed deck to the South over the lake. A grill with burgers and broasted chicken maybe too???
