I dont plan on riding the trails this weekend even if they do open. A bunch of us are heading to watersmeet Mi to get our fix. Once Forest County gets a good base then all be out. This is the 1st yr that ive actually trailered any sled outta my yard in Armstrong. I had to borrow a trailer in order to do this trip.

I say let the good base come.
Have fun on your trip. Ive been there 4 or 5 times and its awesome up there. when your there make shure one day you ride to lake of the clouds. It is a nice day ride and lake of the clouds is at the top of a hill that is tall and long. The trail you take to get to the top is awesome. Its the road in the summer nad its about 7 miles long and straiter than an arrow. Once you get to the top you park the sleds and walk about a minute to the senic overlook thing and its at the top of a cliff. Its cool and you can see a long ways away. Whatever you do have fun and stay safe up there as I understand it gets alittle crowded as its derby weekend but you should be far enough from there.

Im with 05Firecat600sp save the forest county trails! this it the 1st time my sled will see MI snow let alone a trailer.

Open trails beat them down 1st weekend and then lose riders to MI trails or better snow.

Wait a lil longer establish a base and then have a some what chance to have trails that will hold up longer and keep businesses happy for at least more then a weekend.

We'll do the best with what we've got... but in some places there isn't much to work with.
Here's a photo from our grooming efforts earlier today!

Ouch Jim, that section normally has good snow. Looks like all that fluff might just blow around in the field there.

Jim, keep posting those pictures if you have the time...that will possibly keep the traffic down til you get more snow.
I think its tough to declare a county all open or all closed because cond. can vary from one end to the other.

We are going up this weekend to Wild Rose Resort looks like we probably wont be bringing the sleds along though. We will just have to use the car to support the local watering holes. Hopefully we can get some more snow. Stay safe to those that ride.
