Memorial????

Let me get this straight, this guy loses his life and within hours his buddies are erecting a memorial???
Not sure if that would be the 1st priority for me....maybe sometime down the road, but not 1st thing....
Personally ,I think roadside memorials are lame. Trail side they are OK if they serve to slow you down, but man, its like an epidemic on the roadsides, every few miles or so.
I'd rather put up a memorial to a friend somewhere else in his life rather than the place he or she died.
At least trailside would be a spot that the person loved to be.
A neighbor kid was involved in a tragic accident a few years back and the person in the other car died.
This was only 2 miles from where she lived and also the way to town.
The husband of the deceased driver erected a monument with pine trees and all that this kid and her family had to pass anytime they went to town.
Had to be hard for them each time. Not sure if thats the right thing to do. after all it was an ACCIDENT.
