Any idea what the trails hold for tomorrow, (Tuesday)? Wanting to take a day ride up from Green Bay and prob drop in Townsend. Will they be grooming tonight? Just wondering if you can advise so I dont waste a day on really bad conditions...:(
Thanks

The 100 Miler is out grooming right now. Trails should be OK but may have some icy spots. I'll be grooming latertoday so I'll update when I get back in this evening.

Well, I didn't take Roger's advice...and did play hooky and go riding today...while most of our trip was north and west (Lily to Summit Lake, Rhinelander, then over to Crandon and back down to Pickerel/Lily)...conditions were suprisingly pretty good...all things considered. LMT's and the Safari trails we were on had been groomed and were pretty smooth. There's not much loose stuff to work with, so pretty much panned down. Corners icy and will likely remain that way until we get more snow.

Passed the Tombstone Pickerel groomers out working and panning, and Lily groomer was also out of the barn...looks like they went north and west out of Lily.

All in all I'd say RIDE...if you're looking for perfect trails they won't be...but they are very rideable. We put on 130 today, and I'd rate 20% poor, 40% fair, and 40% good. A very pleasant surprise and hats off to all the clubs!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Just in from grooming, I would call trails fair to good. We will be grooming again tomorrow to do some more conditioning. Light snow falling and calling for a low of 9 degrees so things should firm up over night.

Sorry I didn't back sooner. But check out today's trail conditions pictures. Dick groomed North/West yesterday and he groomed South/East today. All of Armstrong Creek is groomed. Trails are hard packed and fast and rated in VERY GOOD to GOOD conditions with some icy corners. Check back later for further updates. Ride Safe!

Thanks to everyone that responded. On Tues afternoon I headed up with two friends. Rode Tues afternoon/eve from Lake Lucerne to Laona to Cavaour to Armstrong and back. Trails hard fast and flat. It was awesome. Saw a Wolf on the trail west of the logging area on way back from Armstrong. Also prob saw about 30 deer on trail. On Wed we headed into Laona and south to Wabeno, then took the 100 back toward Armstrong. That was my first time on that stretch from Wabeno to Armstrong, OMG it was awesome. The only downfall to being so hard and fast is my sled overheated because I was first in the group and was not kicking up alot of dust. Trail was rough from the intersection to take the LMT back to HYW8. Met Dick about 5 miles south of Armstrong then trails were awesome all the way back to Lucerne. Awesome job to the groomers. Is the club ever in need of groomer drivers. The two guys I came up with just retired from the police dept and may be possible canidates to help out once in a while. Looks like snow poss for early next week.....
