Sled Problem!!!

Post by Dragon4eva »

Hey guys I gotta lil problem with my sled. The problem is kinda hard to explain so hopefully someone will understand it. Just the other day i was out riding and when i take off slowly my sled make like the clicking sound/feel to it. I can feel it by my feet that something is clicking. Im worried it could be the clutch. When i take off at a high speed or just riding I do not notice it. Any ideas?? :letitsnow:

Did you check your track tension? It almost sounds like your track is ratcheting meaning when you take off the drivers are slipping on the cogs on the inside of the track. Another thing is it could be your chain tension as well.

Did you smoke your belt? A flat spot on your belt will cause a clicking or thumping noise

I've felt this chunking on mild/moderate launch on a number of machines wherein the belt was not right. In one case the belt had several internal cogs missing but once at moderate speeds it couldn't be felt anymore. In the other case the entire outer cover of the belt had blown off some time ago; it progressively spewed webs of threads around and ultimately blew right apart just the other day. What a mess to clean up when they do that.

If the noise is also there when slowing to a stop, another probable cause for clicking noise at slow speeds would be the clutch side front axel bearing.
