Three Lakes to Eagle River Trail

Hey guys went riding last week and there was the detour to get to eagle river. Can someone tell me why they have that detour set up?? Should we expect to see it switched back to the old trail?? All i have to say is the first few miles of the detour were god awful and needed alot of snow!! But then again so do the rest of the trails.

A land owner pulled some land from that stretch. From what I heard, detour will be permanent this year and maybe longer unless they get the landowner to change his mind. Overall about a 15-17 mile increase in distance, since you have to head west, then north, then back east somewhat.
