Snocross, snocross, snocross is coming! “King of the Hill Snocross” returns for 2007. The former Paul Bunyan Ski Hill in Lakewood, Wisconsin will host TWO early season snocross races for those looking to get a ski-up on the competition. Mark your calendars for December 7-9 and December 28-30, 2007.

This place is pretty special for me personally as it is the site of my very first overall win as a motocross racer. The date was July 20th, 1986. Wow am I getting old! Paul Bunyan Ski Hill is still remembered as one of the most incredible natural terrain MX tracks in Wisconsin. The ski hill has since moved onto to more lucrative business and is the location of the highly successful Lakewood Country Music Festival.

The long off-season and favorably cold temperatures are what brings snocross to town for the first time ever. The ski hill is fortunate to still have functional snow making equipment even though it has not been open for skiing in nearly 20 years.

We are thrilled to be working with TJ and Wendy, proprietors of the Lakewood Country Festival, they have some pretty savvy marketing skills and are taking an active interest in making these events a success. The facilities are perfect for snocross. A newly opened bar at the base of the ski hill will soon house a restaurant as well.

The “voice of snocross” Ed Kaelber will be joining us for the lap-by-lap commentary. Combine the early season dates with a great location and the best snocross announcer on the planet and we have a recipe for one hell of an action packed weekend of bar-to-bar, ski-to-ski race action at the “King of the Hill Snocross.” Dare we forget to mention that the official hotel of the race will be the Indian Springs Lodge that just happens to be attached to the Potawatomi Casino just up the road in Carter, WI.

RE: Snow Report – Lakewood, WI

For the second year in a row the cold blast arrived just in time for the first snocross races of the year. Snow making for the “King of the Hill” race in Lakewood on Dec 7-9th is ahead of schedule. There is an 18-24 inch base on the entire track with a full week of optimal snow making temperatures in the forecast.

We can say with complete confidence that the optional Friday practice will be held on December 7th. Conditions will continue to improve throughout the next week and we will have beautiful track for the races next weekend.

Complete race information is available at www.fantasymoto.com including times and registration forms.
