Not to Ruin Your Plans

Post by Johnnie »

But remember this. Because of the warm temps this coming Saturday, all area trails will rapidly deteriorate by early afternoon. My recommendation is to be close to your trailer by mid afternoon. Trails will be groomed after dark, but daytime grooming on a Saturday is unsafe.

The trails were pretty beat last weekend , by Sunday lots of the trails were pretty much snirt, lots of leaves and not much covering over the many rocks. The straight stretches weren't to bad but I doubt the little bit of snow we got this week will do more then make them white for a bit. It all depends what you want to ride on but a better idea would to be sitting on a bar stool close to the cabin by early Saturday afternoon!!

My brother and I put on 325 miles Saturday. I went from good to bad but everything was rideable. Areas around Eagle River/Land o Lakes were well used. By later afternoon and into evening the trails were vacant. Turned around and put on another 75 Sunday, saw less than a dozen sleds. The curvy and bumpy trails need snow but flat trails were fantastic. 4" would be a tremendous help

Took the NST north instead of trailering and it was good to VG in the AM. Much better than MI trail 2 until you were well west of Iron River, then 2 was great.
Looped up and around Kenton and Bruce crossing and got back before sunset. Trails took a beating. This coming storm is much needed ....hope it hits!
