Monday 1/21/2017 trail status and weather conditions

Post by Curly »

I know there are lots of questions about trails, Base, etc. here's the best evaluation I can give of the complete 100 mile system at this time.

Weather:
It's 38 and overcast as I type this.
Daily high temp forecast is 37 Tuesday and 35 Wednesday with snow predicted Wednesday (1 to 5 depending on what forecast you look at)
Evening temps are forecast to dip below freezing!
Starting Thursday temps are predicted to remain below freezing.

Trail Base:
Appears our base has survived in most areas, although its thin in places.
How will it hold up to the next few days, hopefully well! But totally dependent on what happens in the next 48!

Grooming:
If / When temps drop below freezing we will be out leveling trails in anticipation that the 1 to 5 prediction becomes closer to 5 in reality.

I know this probably doesn't answer many questions but best I can do at this time.
If it freezes hard the next few nights and we get 3" to 5" of snow trails will be good to very good late week.
If we get warm temps overnight and little to no snow then not so much.

SS1 was groomed this morning, and is THIN but GOOD.
The ribbon was setting up GOOD and SOLID.
Hopefully, we'll be back at it tonight.
Check back later for updates and pics.
