Anyone using GPS to ride the trail systems in Wisconsin?? I hear there are now downloads you can install into your GPS for snowmobile trail maps. Anyone have any experience with this, and if so, what are you using for a GPS and software? Thanks.

GPS Snowmobile Trial Maps
I'm using a Garmin GPSMap 76CS and several of the MapSource titles, including: Roads & Recreation, U.S. Recreational Lakes with Fishing Hot Spots, and Topo. 
I personally mapped out a good portion of the 100 Miler last year, but never got around with doing anything with the data, and now some of the trails have changed since last year.
I would like to get out early this year, and map the whole thing again, and then perhaps provide the data free to our booster members and registered users. :thumbup:
I ordered an interactive trail map software program last year. It ran so slow on my computer (Pent4 3.46GHz 4GB RAM Radeon X800 XT) and some of the maps were wrong, that I quit using it.

I worked for a computer company years ago, where I literally assembled thousands of computers from the ground up. I'd start with just a case (bare bones unit) and build it from the ground up to customer specifications. Hardware and Software. It was fun! :thumbup: The only problem with buying parts from different vendors, is if you have problems. With multiple vendors, it allows for 'finger-pointing' and not 'problem-solving'. Now, I just go to Dell, to custom configure any computer I need. They'll build it to my specifications. I like that, because it saves me a lot of time, and if there is a problem, I only have to make one phone call.

I get repeated blue screens of death, etc.

BTW- I prefer Pitfall to Pong. Pong is way too challenging! :redgrin:
