How close are we to an opening
Jim Could you please update some news anything good or bad not knowing is killing us
I made a Friday Night Update post last night under the Armstrong Creek Area Trail Conditions and Reports. Unfortunately the steady light snow stopped last night before we got any significant accumulation. I don't think we even got an inch. I havent been out to check the local trails here in Armstrong Creek, but I would estimate anywhere from 2"-4" base right now. Probably more like 3". But there's been some traffic on parts of our trails already, so that's why I estimate some at 2". I may get out today and take a peek. I'd like to ride north to see if those trees are still down and clean them up maybe. The short term forecast (at least the one I'm looking at) isn't looking too promising either. Of course the forecast around here changes almost hourly. I'm seeing rain in the mix now, but hopefully it will be cold enough, it all comes down as snow. It would be nice to get dumped on like Colorado. Maybe that storm will head northeast and hits us with the same!
Eagle river will be trashed by 6pm with all the trffic they get just wondering how much more snow they need to open the 100 miler:thinksnow:
In this post on December 26th, by Johnnie, he says 6" and we'll be in business. He does mention that we have a nice ice base. Which is great, it will help the trails last longer. Now we just need some snow.
Thank you for the update Jim i will be praying that the storm brings snow and not rain Happy New Year
Sorry for the bad news. I'm hoping we'll get surprised by this weekend weather, and get one of those unpredictable heavy dumps, so we can get out and start grooming and get this show on the road!
