I was informed today that the muzzle loading season was extended until tomorrow (Wed.) and don't expect our (Armstrong Creek) county gates to open until after then. And as Johnny said, we have some landowners to the North that we'll have to get keys from. A couple of the landowners give us keys to their gates (Wenzel), while others will either open their gates themselves (Connor) or lend us their keys (Cleereman) to open the gates and then return the keys.
I believe there is a anterless (rifle) hunt Thursday thru Sunday... Does this mean that some gates might not be open and grooming could start next monday?? Damn deer hunters... no deer and they are out yet after the few left

In another post Johnnie said Tennessee and Roger were going to test groom part of the grade south of Wabeno today. Hopefully that means we will not have to wait until next week for grooming to start. I am okay waiting for the trails to open if it means the base will be in better shape.

If we get enough snow

Today we groomed south out of Wabeno on the railroad grade to Carter and back to Wabeno. Trail looks great. Tomorrow we will groom East to the Pestigo River and back to Wabeno. Friday we will groom to the Valley Inn to Windfall Lake, past Little Long Lake to Himley Lake and back to Wabeno. Trails remain closed so keep checking back for updates.

I would not condemn the deer hunters because they are the land owners of the property that we ride on. Thank the WDNR for no deer in the state.

I found this on the DNR's web site about trail opening, it was just posted on the 8th

Here is a link discussing trail conditions for the entire state. http://www.travelwisconsin.com/snow_report.aspx Just about every county in the state has been updated within the last two days. The only county that is open is Sawyer County and that is only because their trails never close.
